About Carol Brussel...
Carol Brussel lives in a cooperative house in Western Massachusetts with like-minded friends and her two beautiful and loving cats. She has worked as a baker, puppeteer and as an arts facilitator at the Words And Pictures Comic Book Museum in Northeastern Massachusetts -- all to support her illustration habit.
Her artistic influences include Yves Tanguay, Allen Lee and Werner Herzog. She is very interested in Surrealism and the artistic process behind it. Her own improvisational process is channeled from a universal source as well as from her personal being. In this process, the evolution of a piece is more important than the preconceived notion of what it is supposed to be. It is a process that reflects the ever changing nature of nature.
She has studied painting at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst as well as children's book illustration with Mira Bartok.
She hopes to one day make marionettes and live in the woods as a self sufficient artist.
